I became a gastric bypass patient on May 17, 2007, I remain a patient today, four-and-a-half years later and a hundred pounds lighter….I don’t remain a patient just because I underwent a surgical procedure. I voluntarily choose to remain a patient. My life changed drastically on that May day. Simply put, Dr. DeWitt gave me back my life.

Ashley Partridge

I struggled with my weight. For as far back as I can remember, I’ve been that one friend in the group who couldn’t share or borrow clothes because no one was my size – “the fat friend.” However, I always felt like I wore my weight well – I tried to enjoy life, I participated in events and I felt okay. But in my early 30’s my health started to change.

At Our Best

Is your BMI over 35? If so you may be eligible for bariatric surgery to help you lose weight. We offer several different types of procedures.

Robotic/Laparoscopic Gastric Sleeve

The sleeve gastrectomy is one of the fastest growing weight loss procedures in the United States.  With the advancement of the robotic procedure it has decreased the amount of pain after the surgery.

Robotic/Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass

The gastric bypass operation is used to treat morbid obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, and other conditions. This surgical procedure takes the stomach and divides it into a small upper pouch and a much larger lower pouch and then the small intestine is connected to both.

Adjustable Gastric Band

A laparoscopic adjustable gastric band, commonly called a lap-band or an A band. This procedure requires constant attention to adjust the ring size to limit or increase the amount of food consumed.  This approach is a less utilized approach to weight loss.

Revisional Surgeries

Revision weight loss surgery is a surgical procedure that is performed on patients who have already undergone a form of bariatric surgery, and have either had complications or have not successfully achieved significant weight loss from the initial surgery.
